Finnish Throwes In Action

All three Finnish javelin throwers are through to the Finals on Saturday 23rd August.  They are:  Tero Pitkämäki , who finished third in today's qualifying round, Tero Järvenpää, fourth and Teemu Wirkkala, tenth.

Pitkämäki's old friend and rival, Andreas Thorkildsen, also qualified, together with the Latvian, Vadims Vasilevskis and the Russian, Ilja Korotkov, who came first and second, respectively,  to Pitkämäki in the qualifier rounds today.

Thanks, Milieunet!  I am just happy to see the best man on the day win, which will mean optimal conditions!  Thorkildsen is obviously the favourite, but we have to keep an eye on the Latvian and the Russian.  Perhaps we should open a book...?
