Eight Members of the Mexican National Futbol Team Were Kicked Off the Team For Six Months After Getting Caught Up in a Prostitute Scandal

There are reports that eight members of Mexico's national soccer team have been kicked off the team for what has been dubbed a prostitute scandal.

The incident reportedly occurred after the Mexico's 1-0 win over Ecuador on June 25, 2011.

Eight players from El Tri--Jonathan dos Santos, Nestor Vidrio, Javier Cortes, David Cabrera, Nestor Calderon, Israel Jimenez, Jorge Hernandez and Marco Fabian--were reportedly suspended from the team for six months. The suspensions came hours before the team was about to head to Argentina for the 2011 Copa America.

Perhaps the most prominent player is Jonathan dos Santos, who plays for Barcelona and is the younger brother of Mexican star Giovanni dos Santos.

The players were also each fined $4,100.

The Mexican players were busted after some team members reported that items such as laptops and iPads were missing.

Camera footage captured a Mexican team staffer bringing women into rooms of players.

Just 14 players are scheduled to leave for Argentina.
