This is bound to be a very disappointing news for Michael Schumacher and F1 fans. The name that has become synonymous with F1 racing is facing the sidelines again. Just for the record Michael Schumacher was Formula One world champion seven times.

Although the 40 year old had called it a day on his F1 career, he was approached for a comeback to his team in the wake of injury to Felippe Massa a few weeks ago. Things were looking pretty good and the world awaited the return of Schumi. However sadly Michael has suffered a neck injury in an accident and has pulled out of the next Grand Prix that was scheduled to be held in Valencia, Spain.

Dissapointing indeed. Here's wishing him a speedy recovery and I personally hope that he makes a comeback to what he does best. F1 racing.

BERLIN — Former world champion Michael Schumacher has called off plans to return to Formula One racing at the European Grand Prix in Valencia on August 23 due to a neck injury, he announced on his website on Tuesday.

The 40-year-old German, who won the world title seven times before retiring in 2006, had been primed to replace the injured Felipe Massa in the Ferrari team for the race in Spain and possibly for the rest of the season.

But he injured his neck in a motorcycle accident in February and medical tests showed that he had yet to fully recover.

"Yesterday evening, I had to inform Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo and Team Principal Stefano Domenicali that unfortunately I'm not able to step in for Felipe," Schumacher said on his website.

"I really tried everything to make that temporary comeback possible, however, much to my regret it didn't work out.

"Unfortunately we did not manage to get a grip on the pain in the neck which occurred after the private F1-day in Mugello, even if medically or therapeutically we tried everything possible.

Too bad he couldn't make a comeback.  He made a wise choice though.

Michael Schumacher turned F1 into possibly the most boring sport in the world over his 15 years, since he left it became exciting, his possibly return has caused a flurry of excitement for a few seconds, but once again he has disappointed.

He should do as many older drivers do ... retire to NASCAR!

Still Michael can do what others cant..... I don't need to justify that.
