The Boston Red Sox have drafted Michael Yastrzemski, the grandson of legendary Red Sox  outfielder Carl Yastrzemski, in the 36th round of the 2009 MLB Draft.

Carl Yastrzemski has worked extensively with his grandson teaching him the art of hitting. The younger Yaz seems to have caught the eye of Red Sox scouts.

"He has a good swing and good instincts and he works at it," says the scout. "He's got a pretty good hitting coach. Yaz had an ear-to-ear smile on his face when his grandson was hitting. He's got a lot of ability, but there's a lot of kids in his boat. We just have to see him play."

The 18-year-old Yastrzemski planned to accept a baseball scholarship at Vanderbilt University, but he may consider signing with the Red Sox instead, considering his family ties to the franchise.
