Michelle Wie knew that she grounded her club but said she only did it to avoid falling into the water. Before the penalty, Michelle Wie was standing with one foot in the water.

"I accept it," she added. "I accept the fact that it was a penalty stroke if you ground a club. But the fact is I felt like I was off balance. That's why I grounded the club. That's a rule so there's nothing I can do about it."

This Michelle Wie's third rules breach. In the 2005 Samsung World Championship she was disqualified for an incorrect drop. In the 2006 Women's British Open, she was penalized for grounding her club in a bunker.

Michelle Wie ended up with a tie for the 5th place at under 4. Hee Kyung Seo wins the LPGA Kia Classic and won $255,000.

If you look at the video, she clearly is not using the club to keep her balance.  She should keep the whining to herself, she just looks foolish in claiming she was off balance.

Oh STFU! You're just jealous because she has fame and a lot of money... and you, on the other hand, don't have jack sh*t.

John is right.  Clearly she wasn't off balance as she didn't lean on the club, she just softly touched it down.  By claiming she did it because she was off balance, she is cheating.  Has nothing to do with jealousy.  Just the facts man.
