Minneapolis Marathon 2009: Results and Photos From Inaugural Run
The inaugural Minneapolis Marathon was won by Tom Tisell, a 41-year-old St. Paul native won with a time of 2 hours 42 minutes and 57 seconds.
The women's category was won Jessica Pink, who finished with a time of 3:04:16, completing a sweep for local runners.
It was a perfect day to run a marathon. The weather was cool and breezy, ideal conditions to run the 26.2-mile course that ran through downtown Minneapolis.
The first-ever Minneapolis Marathon, which was sponspored by Team Ortho, was a relatively low-key race. There were no major prizes or media hoopla and there weren't any world-class racers in attendance. Still, race organizers are confident that the Minneapolis Marathon will become an annual event.

I disagree with your cool and breezy statement in the article. If you were on the same course I was, it was anything but cool. The temperature must have been in the high 70's.

I agree with Dina. It was definitely NOT "cool and breezy". It was 48 degrees at the start but quickly rose to the mid to upper 70s.
