Misbah-ul-Haq: Pakistan Black Sheep

As India has beaten Pakistan in World Cup Semi Final it’s more of a poor and dismal batting and fielding of Pakistan rather than the great performance of Indian team and especially Misbah who can’t move his body at 36 years of age.

I wonder why he is in team and why not Ahmad Shahzad was given a chance instead of Misbah and why Afridi was not able to communicate to Misbah that he should play a good innings today being a senior player of the team.

You idiot, he was holding the innings together. The other batsmen couldn't accelerate either. Why did Afridi get out? And what about Razzaq? And you term Misbah as a black sheep? What about the 5-6 catches everyone dropped? You will ignore that?To really blame the loss on someone, you have to blame the fielding and not Misbah's slow batting. What he did was right at that point.

Misbah-yl-haq was the one who started this ... he dropped tendulkar first and he played 42 dot balls which means he played 7 maiden overs. Rather then getting angry we should look at the stats and everyone will second that Misbah test innings made this defeat possible. He not only palyed slow but also wasnt able to rotate the strike which puts extra pressure on other batsmen to tale risk and play aggressive. As a senior basment he should have taken the responsibility to rotate the strike and play positive. He took it to long and left it too late where even don bradman couldnt do any thing. His age is 36 its better he should retire now like shoaib and i think its time to include fresh blood and fresh wicketkeeper. or else we all will suffer in the same manner again and again.

misbah played fantastic inning in the conditions given he could have easily made 10 to 15 runs and got out like the rest......but he dint....and its bcos of his inning pak got close ..... pak should learn basics like catching first ......

dunno

Though the conditions were tough and it is known that it was even difficult to rotate strike, still innings of misbah comes as a shock. It was as if he was not trying to win at all. Pressure kept mounting thanks to his slow playing. Naturally other players cracked under pressure. There's something fishy i guess. Was it f****????

Misbah, ofcourse will be praised by Indians, for if it wasn't for him single handedly, Pakistan would have won. The bastard!

All you guys blaming Misbah are sick and just plain haters!!!What about Younis Khan, Kamran Akmal and the so called "boom boom", Shahid Afridi??he didnt take a single wicket and got no significant runs on the board. Atleast Misbah played well throughout the tournament, he is the top scorer for pakistan, Shehzad flopped in every single  innings.

@Bilal Badar : Indeed we ARE blaming Misbah.... because of him playing slow ...the word in its literal meaning, all the pressure came up and the rest of batsman could not resist to go for runs .. and they got out . About Afridi he walked in at the moment pakistan was in a hopeless situation thanks to misbah. Its not about making runs ...it seemed as if he did not wish to make runs ... as if he was playing a test match..

They said he who'll hold control his nerves shall win this match? REALLY? I think misbah held is nerves a bit TOO MUCH. It was he was as if he was in a different world when he was out there as run-rate kept rising. What? he couldn't even take singles in a 42 dot ball drought!? He seemed to be calm, care-free, keeping everyone guessing his strategy and to this day it's mystery. Personally, seeing the way he batted' it comes of as obvious either match was FIXED and he wanted to make a point by making it so obvious.. OR his own life/family life was at RISK by some bookie/gangster ... I' can't wait to hear what he will say about his "hidden mysterious strategy"

I'm sorry but i'm gonna have to point the finger at Misbah ul haq as well. Its is really plain stupid to defend (not even try to score a single) when the required run rate is over 7 an over. No one asked him to take the risk and go for big shots, all he had to do was rotate the strike which he failed in doing so miserably. Of course the batsmen on the other end will get frustrated watching him waste valuable deliveries as if the required rates was below 3, hence they are forced to play riskier shots. Misbah really does not deserve to play in the pak squad, they really need some fresh blood. Afridi needs to be blamed for forgetting that the batting powerplay actually exists.About catches, yea they are important but slight misjudgment that can happen within a fraction of  second can account for them, but yea the way misbah and yunis khan batted is totally unforgivable. The shots they played, they were not even looking to score, not even a low risk single, just letting the req run rate to increase withing the indians having to tighten the singles.

@Bilal Badar: Are u Misbah in disguise? You guys remember Dilshan defending afraid he would score and win the game against England before Tharanga got his century in the Qtr-finals.... yes thats exactly how Misbah played the 42 dot balls ... afraid he would score runs. Yes he did hit a few shot after India had practically won the game. Anyone smell anything fishy?
