Legendary track & field athlete Carl Lewis made a special appearance at a party in Beijing hosted by Olympic sponsor, Budweiser. He joins a plethora of American, Canadian, British and Australian athletes who came out to celebrate their medal wins with a beer or two.
Lewis says he's proud of his compatriot Michael Phelps who won his eighth gold on the same day, joining an exclusive club of Olympic greats.
Lewis has won Olympic golds in the 100 and 200 metres, 4x100 relay and long jump spanning a career from 1984 to 1996. He retired after the Atlanta Games and holds the accolade of being the "Sportsman of the Century" as voted by the International Olympic Committee.

Calvin Smith was the 100 meter world record holder at that time, so the intrigue surrounding this race was high. This race was a showdown between Calvin and Carl. As usual, Carl wasn’t the first after 10 meters however the race was over at 80-90 meters.
