Check out the Updated (final update) of the Internet’s largest MLB Mock Draft Database.  Simply click the MLB tab at the top.

The Major League Baseball draft will be held today at 2PM.  The
draft’s importance is rapidly growing for many franchises who are
beginning to turn to team building models of building from the bottom
up.  The Washington Nationals, under President Stan Kasten, have
embraced that model and success has arrived int he beginning stages, as
the Nationals organization catapulted from last in MLB in minor league
development, to 4th overall in the past two years.  Thanks can be given
to incredible 20069 and 2007 draft classes that boast a ton of pitching
prospects.

The success has not been seen in Washington DC yet, but it is likely
coming given the successful turnarou8nd of the Nationals farm system,
not 4th overall in total wins and fully stocked with pitching.  The
2007 draft was particularly fruitful with Ross Detwiler taken 6th
overall and heating up in Potomac.  Adrian Alaniz was taken in the 11th
round of the 2007 draft and is 8-0 with a 2.45 ERA in Potomac.  Jordon
Zimmerman was taken in the second round and is having a great season
and rapidly progressing.  Two other first rounders, Joshua Smoker and
Jack McGeary are just getting started in lower A ball.

With the emphasis on pitching the last two drafts, I would love to
see the Nationals begin branching out and gaining some offensive
weapons.  They started a little bit in the 2007 draft nabbing OF
Michael Burgess in the fourth round.  Burgess is in Low A Hagerstown
and leads the South Atlantic League with 12 homers and is hitting over
.260 after a slow start.  Eric Hosmer is available would be a great
pick, as would Yonder Alonzo.

Overall, the MLB Mock Database ,
has two prospects leading in the projections to be number 1 overall.
14 Mock drafts project C Buster Posey to go Number One, while 9 project
Tim Beckham.  P Pedro Alvarez is a consensus choice at number two
overall, with 17 mocks projecting him to go second.  The third overall
pick is a crap-shoot between Erioc Hosmer, Brian Matusz, Tim Beckham,
and Buster Posey.  The trend of most updated mocks tend to be looking
at Beckham and Matusz in the third slot.

For the Nationals, there is absolutely no consensus, although C Kyle
Skipwiorth has been trending to be the Nats pick at #9.  I don’t think
Eric Hosmer and Tim Beckham will be available at #9, nor can I see
Matusz falling that far.  Pitcher Aaron crow and Aaron Hicks are strong
possibilities.  I am surprised no mocks have projected P Shooter Hunt
and very little have looked at 1B Justin Smoak.

But anyway, check it out, our final MLB Database update.
