Brett Favre plans to take the Minnesota Viking (3-0) on a plunder in this Monday Night Football game at the Metrodome against his old team the Green Bay Packers (2-1). The hype for this NFL game is becoming one of the greatest sports stories of our time. Can Favre, just out of retirement, take on his old team?

Favre said “it gives us a chance to go 4-0. So, I can’t look at it any different…it’s one game.” Although he sounds indifferent about this matchup, we know he's not. Last February he told Sports Illustrated , "Part of me coming back last year, I have to admit now was sticking it to Ted."AH HA! The cats out of the bag.

He also said “I will never play for quote unquote revenge, it’s too long of a season…at this stage of my career, it’s definitely not worth doing that.” But how can you not have at least a little bit of remorse after being dismissed by a team that you played 15yrs with? If Favre was ever waiting for a chance to prove himself now would be the time to do so.

Here is an interesting fact, with a Viking victory, Favre will be the first starting quarterback in history to defeat every NFL franchise at least one time in the regular season. In my opinion, Brett came back out of retirement because he felt the impact he made had not been enough. To put it simply, Brett has a lot more riding on this game than Aaron Rodgers has. With his age and previous injuries, you never know when his last game will be. So he will be playing this game like it was his last. With the Viking already on a win streak and Brett back in the groove you can expect another Viking victory and a record breaking game for Brett Favre.
