It's actually Muay Thai. And it's in Phuket, Thailand. Not as violent as I expected, although occasionally the crowd involvement threatened to outshine the event itself.
The fighters are more respectful of each other and box with more spirituality than traditional boxing, and if I had to choose to see another bout, it would be Muay Thai over boxing. Just as long as I had Thai beer and fried chicken to go ;-)
