BCHL Nanaimo Clippers won a squeaker 4/3 against the Prince George Spruce Kings in double overtime Wednesday night.  The sparse Nanaimo crowd was treated to the first win of the year by the struggling hometown Clippers.

Nanaimo Clippers scored in the first period and held off the Prince George Spruce Kings.  The Spruce Kings came back in the second period to tie and go ahead.  A goal by the Spruce Kings late in the third period saw them pull in front by two goals.  With only four minutes to go the sparse crowd thinned even further.

Nanaimo Clippers dug deep and kept up the pressure to score two goals in the dying minutes of regulation play. First sudden death overtime saw no change.  Second overtime with only a goalie and three skaters per team finished it.  Associate player brought up from the younger ranks, Miles Fitzgerald carried the puck to the Spruce Kings end, gave a soft pass to Cody Bremner and it was in.

The win was particularly sweet for the Nanaimo Clippers as it broke their 11 game losing streak and keeps them in the running for a play off spot.
