Friday night nearly two thousand hockey fans watched the BCHL Nanaimo Clippers defeat the Victoria Grizzlies. This was the third in a four game series starting a week ago. That game was a strange one with a waved off goal by the Grizzlies being reinstated three minutes later immediately after the Clippers scored against the Grizz. The Clippers goal was then disallowed. That ended in a loss to the Grizzlies.
The second game in the series, played in Victoria, saw a Nanaimo victory. Last night's hard fought victory brings the Clippers within striking distance of claiming top spot in the Island Division, a spot now held by the Victoria Grizzlies.
The Nanaimo Clippers meet the Victoria Grizzlies again tonight in Victoria.
