BCHL Hockey

Friday night Nanaimo Clippers chalked up an important win against the Langley Chiefs.  Nanaimo Clippers is normally a powerhouse hockey team, but has seen some pretty rocky play the past couple of months and a slide in the Island division to an unaccustomed third place.

Fans are enthusiastic and supportive of the team, but it's time to commit  to season tickets for the 09/10 season and a winning team is a lot easier to sell.  There were a number of empty seats Friday night in this hockey talk kind of town.

The outcome of the game wasn't decided until the dying minutes of the game with a determined effort by the Chiefs to even up the score.  An empty netter in the dying seconds, put away any hope the Chiefs had to tie the score.  Final score:  Nanaimo Clippers 6, Langley Chiefs 4.

Nanaimo Clippers play next Friday, February 6 at the Frank Crane Arena against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.
