Nanaimo Clippers Junior Hockey Team pulled off a decisive 5/1 win against the Williams Lake Timberwolves Wednesday night at the Frank Crane Arena.  They were playing their first home game after a lengthy and successful road trip.

The win on Wednesday night gives hope to the Nanaimo Clippers that they may yet secure a playoff spot in the provincial championships.

The Williams Lake Timberwolves were outplayed on Wednesday night being outshot 33 to 14 and ending at the losing end of the score, but they never gave up or gave in.  The Timberwolves played hard until the final buzzer.

While the regular Nanaimo Clipper players are crowd pleasers, the fans' hearts were won by the twin brothers Miles and Leo Fitzgerald, borrowed from an affiliated team.  These younger and smaller players more than held their own on the ice, being pivotal in some of the scoring plays for the Clippers.

Nanaimo Clippers next play Friday February 12 in Nanaimo at the Frank Crane Arena.
