Nanaimo, Vancouver Island, Canada
The waterfront was the place to be on Sunday. It was the Silly Boat Regatta in support of the Child Development Centre. Participants have a short period of time to build their silly boat on site. Then they get to test it on or more often in the water.
The weather was perfect for the regatta with calm water and sunshine to help dry off the dunked sailors. As you can see from the photos, it looked as if most of the population turned out to cheer them on.
Money raised by the regatta goes toward supporting the Child Development Centre in town.
