Nancy Griffin of North Carolina has filed a lawsuit because men at Raleigh's men's league refuse to play her.

In the lawsuit, Nancy Griffin claims that the city of Raleigh unfairly changed league rules so her male opponents could avoid playing against her. In the past, the league had penalized players for refusing participating in a league match. The rule was changed three years ago, opening the door for Griffin's male opponents to back out of their matches without consequence. Thanks to all the no-shows, Griffin's been forced to plays fewer matches, affecting her league ranking.

Opponents claim to have avoided playing Griffin due to jealous spouses, but there may be another cause.

The city had no comment, but one gentleman who has played Griffin in the past confirms she is, indeed, better than a lot of the men in the field.

Nancy sounds like a serious type A personality.  I think she just likes letting men know that she's better than them for her ego's sake.  Maybe she should try counseling?  Most men prefer to play people for the following reasons: 1. They are are a good challenge 2.  They can slowly develop a friendship outside of tennis with common interests 3.  They like to win sometimes. 4.  They typically prefer to play other men UNLESS they are trying to flirt or pickup a woman. That's just my opionion two cents. Mike

Wait, she could have been mistreated when she was a kid by some guy guy in her life and this is her way to get back at the entire male race? Mike Tennis Plaza
