The NBA (National Basketball Association) celebrated its 65 Anniversary yesterday. The NBA was founded on June 6, 1946 in New York City at the old Hotel Commodore. June 6, 2011 marked the NBA at 65.

The NBA/ABA (American Basketball Association) Merger of 1976 was announced on June 17, 1976. The merger increased the league from 18 to 22 teams when the Denver Nuggets, Indiana Pacers, New York (New Jersey) Nets, and San Antonio Spurs joined the league as part of the historic merger. June 17, 2011 will mark the 35th Anniversary of the merger.

The days in June 6+17=23. The 2011 NBA Draft will be held on June 23, 2011 in Newark, NJ. The last NBA Draft held in New Jersey was in 1996. Allen Iverson was the number 1 over-all pick of the 1996 NBA Draft.

Allen "The Answer" Iverson turns 36 today (June 7, 2011). Iverson is the number 1 all-time most influential NBA player to the hoops and hip-hop culture fusion era born in 1984 that is known today as The "Dunkadelic-Era". The 25th Anniversary of The "Dunkadelic-Era" (1984-2009) led to June 2009 being proclaimed and observed as NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month).

Tupac Shakur the controversial but admired rap-star was born on June 16, 1971. June 16, 2011 will mark the 40th birthday of Tupac. His birthday (6/16) is one-day before the NBA/ABA Merger (6/17) was announced. Allen Iverson's birthday June 7th is one-day after the NBA (6/6) was formed.

Iverson's birthday on the 7th and Tupac's birthday on the 16th (7+16=23) combined equal the number 23.

23 was the number of teams in the NBA when Michael Jordan entered the league in 1984, and Michael Jordan is player that has branded the number 23.

Tupac at 40 and Iverson at 36. Their birthday ages (40+36=76)  combined for June 2011 equal 76. The NBA/ABA Merger was announced during the year of 1976. Iverson played for 10+ seasons for the Philadelphia 76ers. The 4-years in age difference between Tupac and Iverson (4) were the number of teams that were part of the NBA/ABA merger.

The NBA at 65 and the NBA/ABA Merger at 35 combined Anniversaries equal the number 100. Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors scored 100-points on 3/2/62. The 100-points is an NBA record for most points scored in a game. The team the Warriors were playing were the New York Knicks. New York City is where the NBA was founded as the NBA turns 65.

He scored 23 of those 100-points in the first quarter. Chamberlain also played for the Philadelphia 76ers just like Iverson. Chamberlain and Jordan are the only two-players in NBA history to average 30 ppg. for their career. The NBA is a 30-team league.

Jordan is considered the NBA's greatest player of the leagues 65-year existence. Iverson's 76ers played vs. Jordan and his Washington Wizards for MJ's last NBA game on April 16, 2003. The 16th is same birthday date for Tupac who was born June 16th. Iverson was not "Like Mike" for his career or Jordan's last game. He wore a special pair of shoes for Jordan's last game, and the name of those kicks were "Dunkadelic."
