Today is the 2009 NBA trade deadline, a day for some to add pieces for a playoff run and for others to unload players in an effort to rebuild.
So when is the 2009 NBA trade deadline? All deals are supposed to be done by 3 pm EST on Thurs. Feb. 19. It may take longer for deals to be made public.
Already, ESPN has reported has some NBA trades:
-The New York Knicks traded Malik Rose to the Oklahoma City Thunder in exchange for Chris Wilcox.
-The Minnesota Timberwolves have a tentative deal to trade Rashad McCants and Calvin Booth to the Sacramento Kings for Shelden Williams and Bobby Brown (no, not that Bobby Brown).
-The Chicago Bulls sent Larry Hughes to the New York Knicks for Jerome James, Tim Thomas and Anthony Roberson.
-The Orlando Magic may have landed point guard Rafer Alston from the Houston Rockets in a three-way deal. The Magic will get Alston, the Grizzlies will receive Orlando's 1st round pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, and Houston will receive Grizzlies guard Kyle Lowry, Orlando forward Brian Cook and perhaps two other players.
-Another three-team trade. The Sacramento Kings get Will Solomon from the Toronto Raptors. Toronto gets Patrick O'Bryant from the Boston Celtics. Boston will receive a second-round draft pick from Sacramento.
