June 10th has been proclaimed as "Hip-Hop Radio Day" http://nbhhcm2010hcl.blogspot.com/2010/02/nbhhcm-2010-honor-calendar-list.html by the NBHHCM (National Basketball & Hip-Hop Culture Month) Foundation.

Hip-hop radio has been very influential to the hoops and hip-hop culture fusion time-period born in 1984 that is known today as The "Dunkadelic-Era" In America. The month of June has been selected as NBHHCM.

The City of Baltimore was the first US city to proclaim NBHHCM in June 2009 by former Mayor Sheila Dixon. Baltimore was joined by 15 other major US cities in 2010 including Atlanta, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington DC.

Hot 97 in New York is the #1 hip-hop station in America. New York is the "Capital" to the hoops and hip-hop culture.

This past June 4th was "David J. Stern Day." Mr. Stern has been the NBA Commissioner since February 1, 1984. 1984 was the birth-year of The "Dunkadelic-Era".

June 12, 2010 has been proclaimed as "NBA Player's Day."
