NCAA Big Ten Roundup

The 2009 Big Ten Men's Basketball Tournament is being held in Indianapolis where the winner will receive the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. The bracket is based on the final regular-season standings with the conference champion earning top seeds and top five receiving first-round byes. 

1. Michigan State - Kept its hopes for a top seed alive with the victory over Minnesota
2. Illinois - A strong team with a solid front and back-end
3. Purdue - The team will fly with Robbie Hummel in the lineup
4. Wisconsin - A shaky team that has just been knocked off by Ohio State
5. Ohio State - In tough as the win over Wisconsin is the first victory over a higher seed in the tournament since 2003
6. Penn State - Almost has a spot locked up in the NCAA tournament
7. Michigan - Questionable team, but has prior victories over Duke and UCLA
8. Minnesota - A scrappy team that just lost to Michigan State
9. Northwestern - Has plenty of work to do
10. Iowa - Blown out by Michigan on Thursday
11. Indiana - Considered a throw-away year, lost to Penn State 66-51
