New evidence has come forth that links Barry Bonds to the use of banned performance enhancing drugs other than the "cream" and the "clear" designer substances that have been under question since the beginning of the investigation.

A person who has reviewed the evidence said that the authorities detected anabolic steroids in urine samples linked to Bonds that they gathered in connection with their investigation. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity. The evidence could be significant because questions have been raised about whether the "clear," which like the "cream" was created to avoid detection in drug tests, was technically a steroid under federal law when Bonds testified before a federal grand jury in November 2003.

When Bonds testified a few years back against the charges he admitted to using "cream" and "clear" but did not believe they were performance inhancing. Bonds stated that he thought "cream" was a rubbing balm for arthritis amd that "clear" was flaxseed oil. When asked by the grand jury if he had taken steroids he said no.
