Wed Mar 4 2009. A New york vet accidentally euthanized a high earning racing greyhound "Easter Runnie" when she inadvertantly administered more anehetic than required.  Anesthesia can be very dangerous for Sighthounds (greyhounds, afghans, deerhounds etc). Veterinary reports of anesthetic deaths are common in the Sighthound community. Unfortunately some conditions require anesthesia for proper treatment.

Dr. Barbara Levine Golstien was not available for comment on Wednesday but a statement is expected soon.
