Most of this tour has been rain-marred and today was no different. It's been a premature end to what was shaping up to be a good contest. West Indies started off well with Gayle powering them to a good total receiving good support from Chanderpaul. New Zealand started the chase in a positive manner with both McCullum and Ryder scoring at will. It was Guptill and Taylor thereafter who took over the mantle and ensured New Zealand finished above the D/L par score before the rain came.

Chris Gayle smashed his 19th ODI century and help West Indies to put 293 for nine from 50 overs on board in the fifth one-day international against New Zealand at McLean Park, Napier on Tuesday. Gayle has been in superb form right from the begining of the series. In the second test he hitted 197 run against New Zealand.

Unlucky Shivnarine Chanderpaul missed the 10th ODI Century at Napier, as he got dismissed for 94 on the delivery of Jesse Ryder. Gayle and Chanderpaul contributed 170 run partnership before Gayle got dismissed.

Slog over hits by Keiron Pollard helped West Indies to score quick runs in the end. He scored 19 Runs of just 8 balls.

Strong Bowling by Mark Gillespie and Kyle Mills helped New Zealand to make difficult for West Indies Players to score quickly in the last overs. Mark Gillespie ended his figure with 10-0-58-4 while Kyle Mills ended his quota with figures 10-2-57-3.
