Comeback: 2006 New Orleans Saints
JACKSON, MISS - You could hear a collective sigh from the packed crowd - and perhaps from Saints teammates, as well - when No. 26 trotted onto the practice field on Saturday afternoon.

CHUCK COOK / THE TIMES-PICAYUNE Running back Deuce McAllister dressed and participated in the afternoon practice after getting an MRI on his left knee.

Running back Deuce McAllister returned to work after missing the morning workout and having an MRI on his left knee.

McAllister looked comfortable on the leg. Sure, he looked to favor the leg at times, but it looked more like it was stiff than anything else. He didn't look nearly as Jammal Brown and Robert Meachem looked at this time a year ago. That's encouraging.

Speaking of legs, has there ever been a team in the history of the league with more key players coming off lower leg injuries, specifically knees - than this Saints squad?

McAllister. Brown. Meachem. Mike McKenzie. Josh Bullocks. Jon Vilma. Reggie Bush. Brian Young. Jeremy Shockey.

Saints coach Sean Payton might earn an honorary doctorate degree in orthopedics after this season.

Everyone is looking for Reggie Bush to justify his huge contract beyond his first amazing season with the Saints.

I hope you check out the selection of videos I put up. The first was from the 2006 Come-Back to New Orleans and the Superdome. I know many of you did not understand why it was so important to get the Superdome up and running so fast, but if you check out that video, you might begin to understand. It put the heart back into New Orleans like nothing else could, except maybe Mardi Gras.

The other two are tributes from a New Orleans Mardi Gras Indian Chief and another musician/rapper.

Enjoy!
