NFL Power Poll summary (Post-Week 5)
We have our Week 5 Power Poll summary from 20 Power Polls across the Web. In our own glorious Power Poll, Tom ranks the Redskins 15 after the huge 16-13 overtime win against the Green Bay Packers. Certainly not a win that most would have put in the Redskins column when completing their season record projection. Disagree with us? Then tell us, share your thoughts.
One thing that is pretty clear this season is the existence of parity in the National Football League. You got to love it. It is one of the facets that makes the NFL so great. Season to season there are always surprises, whether teams that should be good, turn out to be simply average, or teams expected to be below average, make stunning runs to the playoffs. This season is by far no different. The Colts, Saints, Cowboys, and Packers, all expected to vie for their respective division and conference titles, and in that regard, dominate through the season, are struggling in their own rights. Teams like the Redskins, Chiefs, Jaguars, Bears, and Seahawks were expected to be average or below average, but instead have started out stronger than expected. As the rest of the season unfolds, it will be interesting to see if parity continues. Week 5 has come and gone and the NFL does not have a single undefeated team. Meanwhile, the Panthers, 49ers, and Bills remain without a victory.
Summary of #1 overall: Ravens (8), Steelers (6), Jets (65)
Average Redskins Rank (averaging all 20): 12
