After an intriguing Week 3, the 2009 NFL season is in full swing. Things are starting to come more into focus as we see some teams continue to play well while others appear to be coming apart at the seams. Then there's the Detroit Lions, who have been at the bottom of everyone's Power Rankings for two years. Nice to see the St. Louis Rams begin a new reign as the NFL's worst team.

Here are some NFL Power Rankings for Week 4 (Last week's ranking is in brackets):

(1) New York Giants (3-0) The Giants offensive line is great and their defense is still one of the best in the league. In three weeks, the Giants may not have been the best team, but they have been consistent.

(3) New Orleans Saints (3-0) Yeah, the offense is good, but how about that defense? New Orleans’ D harassed Trent Edwards all day and held the Bills’ offense to 243 yards.

(6) Baltimore Ravens (3-0) Sure, they beat the Browns, but that Ravens offense looks impressive. Joe Flacco is great and Willis McGahee seems to have new lease on life.

(8) New York Jets (3-0) All that weird homoerotic adulation that the media has bestowed on Tom Brady may soon transfer to Mark Sanchez.

(4) Indianapolis Colts (3-0) Peyton Manning is averaging 327 passing yards and has completed nearly 69 percent of his passes.

(11) Minnesota Vikings (3-0) Ah, the Brett Favre of old. Not enough to make you forget what a pain he's been the last two seasons, but it was nice.

  (7) Chicago Bears (2-1) Jay Cutler has had two game-winning drives in a row.

(5) Atlanta Falcons (2-1) No need to hit the panic button just yet.

(16) Denver Broncos (3-0)  Enjoy it, Denver. Brandon Marshall seems to be behaving himself. Knowshon Moreno looks decent. Now they have to face Dallas, New England and San Diego in the coming weeks.

(9) San Diego Chargers (2-1) Vincent Jackson looks like he could break out and become a star.

(13) New England Patriots (2-1) A huge game for the Pats. After losing to the Jets and a weak win against the Bills, the team needed to beat a quality team.

(10) San Francisco 49ers (2-1) A brutal week for the Niners. They lose a heartbreaker in the dying seconds and they lose Frank Gore for around three weeks.

(14) Philadelphia Eagles (2-1) Everyone's been wondering what Michael Vick's comeback would look like. It turned out to be anti-climatic thanks to a decent performance by Kevin Kolb

(2) Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2) Is it time to panic yet?

(15) Green Bay Packers (2-1) What better way to get over a tough home loss than a game against the Rams?

 (18) Dallas Cowboys (2-1) Tony Romo is hearing the boos from the crowd. But that running game could give them something to cheer about.

 (24)  Cincinnati Bengals (2-1) Holy crap! Before this game, Ben Roethlisberger had never lost a game in the state of Ohio. The Bengals finally managed to beat the Steelers in Cincy, thanks to a defense that is firing on all cylinders.

 (12) Arizona Cardinals (1-2) Did we all just dream that the Cardinals were in the Super Bowl last year?

(17)  Houston Texans (1-2) The Texans defense has given up more than 1,300 yards in three games and have just one sack.

(19) Tennessee Titans (0-3) Kerry Collins is struggling and it may not end soon. The Titans have games against Jacksonville, New England and Indianapolis. This team could easily go to 1-5.

(20) Seattle Seahawks (1-2) They deserved to miss the playoffs just because of those lime green jerseys.

(23) Buffalo Bills (1-2) For the first time in 185 games, Terrell Owens was held without a catch. How does he respond? By badmouthing Rodney Harrison on Twitter, of course.

(27) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-2) All MoJo, all the time. But will it be enough?

(26) Oakland Raiders (1-2) JaMarcus Russell's numbers speak for themselves: 61 passing yards, zero touchdowns, two interceptions and a 22.6 quarterback rating.

 (22) Miami Dolphins (0-3) The Dolphins had so much promise, yet here they are at 0-3 and it looks like Chad Pennington is out for the season.

 (25) Carolina Panthers (0-3) Jake Delhomme can't stop throwing interceptions and their defense can't stop the run.

 (32) Detroit Lions (1-2) After their first win in nearly two years, the Lions took a victory lap like they won the Super Bowl. Kinda sweet. Kinda pathetic.

(21) Washington Redskins (1-2) Everyone was wondering what would happen to the team that finally lost to the Lions. Don't be surprised if the Redskins implode. This should be interesting to watch.

(28) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (0-3) The Bucs were shutout for the first time since 2006. Head coach Raheem Morris referred to their last game as a "complete disaster."

(29)  Kansas City Chiefs (0-3) Matt Cassel threw for just 90 yards.

(30) Cleveland Browns (0-3) Brady Quinn is hurt. No one cares.

(31) St. Louis Rams (0-3) All those joke we've made about the Lions over the last two years. Just take out "Detroit Lions" and add "St. Louis Rams" and you can use those same jokes for the next two years.

it's nice to see some respect for the NFC north...  it will be nice to see the Bears and Vikings duke it out in the playoffs.
