Thanksgiving Football 2011: Nickelback to Play at Detroit-Green Bay Game

When the Lions face the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving Day, Nickelback is confirmed as the band to play during halftime.

Detroit Lions fans didn't take the news lying down. One fan, Dennis Guttman, went to change.org and formed a petition to yank Nickelback from the game. So far, they have over 50,000 signatures.

Strange: Nickelback is a massively successful band, but nobody claims to like them.

When Does the Lions-Packers Game Start?

Kickoff for the Detroit Lions-Green Bay Packers game is at 12:30pm ET/9:30am PT. The game will be broadcast on Fox. Just mute your TV at halftime if you are so inclined.

At least Nickelback realizes that everyone hates Nickelback.
