Nicolas Almagro Defeated by Rafael Nadal Despite Nadal Injury

Nicolas Amagro was defeated by Rafael Nadal in the US Open today 7-5 6-4 6-4, despite the fact that Nadal suffered from an injury in his right abdominal muscle following on from his old injury of tendinitis in both knees.

Rafael Nadal is now in the fourth round of the US Open.

At 2-1 down in the third set, Nadal lay flat on his back as one of the tournament medics sprayed and taped his stomach. After resuming play, the third seed grimaced on several occasions as he poked the afflicted area between points.
