Simply a very tragic incident.

A bus carrying a soccer team and a vehicle transporting cattle crashed into each other Sunday on a central Nigerian road, tumbling both vehicles into a ditch and killing 15 sportsmen, police said.

Plateau State police spokesman Saidu Ibrahim said 12 players and three coaches of Adamawa United died instantly in the afternoon crash on the road connecting the Nigerian capital of Abuja with a regional city, Jos. Witnesses said seven other people were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Ibrahim said the accident occurred when one vehicle attempted to pass the other on the two-lane road, but it wasn't clear which driver was at fault.

Fatal traffic accidents are common in Nigeria, where decades-old roads are normally pitted with potholes and drivers frequently fail to observe traffic-safety regulations.

I can't understand why these drivers are always in much a hurry. The roads are bad they know that, they know the dangers yet they still insist on driving crazy anyway. Sad story thank you for posting.

It is such a waste of human life. We had the same kind of incident recently in Israel when a driver of a tour bus with Russian tour guides was speeding recklessly on a very narrow and dangerous road only to fall into a ravine killing too many souls.
