Skier Nik Zoricic died in at a ski cross event on March 10, 2012.

The Nik Zoricic injury when Zoricic crashed into safety netting on the course's boundary. He suffered severe head trauma that proved to be fatal.

The Nik Zoricic tragedy is the second death to strike Canada's ski community. Sarah Burke died in January while training in Colorado.

Born in Sarajevo, Zoricic trained in the Toronto area. He competed for Canada at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.
