NEW GROUP JOIN THE HALL OF FAME:  by Brian Zelley
Now the dust has settled, and the long process has come to an end,there are 19 new names added to the British Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall of Fame including the pioneer category with VIC MURDOCH.
Two other categories produced one candidate each.  In the Junior/Youthcategory the inductee is former Nanaimo boxer MICKEY GRIFFIN, and for All-Rounder is former boxer and coach, and current ring official DERRICK  "The Pride of Cranbrook" HOYT.  Hoyt was also a boxing coach in Sooke, BC and is presently a referee and judge.

Women-in-Boxing inductees are builder Linda Gigliotti, and boxers Jeannine Garside and Teresa Taylor.  Taylor is presently a woman rower while Garside in now in Ontario and is a professional boxer.
The open class senior boxer category resulted in four good candidateswith a variety of experience including Gary Wood, Gordie Lawson,Jack Snaith and Sidney McKnight.
The big winners in quantity that have been under represented in past yearsare the builders including coaches and officials. They include folks from various parts of BC including Dick St. Louis, George Nepper, Ian Gibson,Jim Gallagher, Jim Howie,  Ralph Galloway, Ron Whalley, Stan Smith and Wally Doern.

Administrators for 2013 include Dean Bruckshaw,  Ray Beaulieu,  Steven Kodiak,   Seth Gotro, Steve Wood and Brian Zelley.  Former, three term administrator Scott Galloway will become an honorary director along with inductee Jack Snaith.  At least one more director is to be chosen and the new ones will join the others which includes Alan Brown, Freddy Fuller,  Kevin "Booper" Maughan and Mandy Lapointe.

At least three folks have been added to the list of honorary directors:                      RITA NEPPER, JACK SNAITH and SCOTT GALLOWAY.
