North Korean players celebrate for qualified for 2010 World Cup

In addition to working on its nuclear arsenal, North Korea has also been working on its soccer. The North Korean Soccer Team qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 43 years, after tying 0-0 with the Saudi Arabian team in mach held at the King Fadh International Stadium in Riyadh on Wednesday, June 16th.

Iran's failure to defeat South Korea in Seoul earlier meant that North Korea only needed a draw in Riyadh.

They join South Korea, Australia and Japan as Asia's four automatic qualifiers for South Africa 2010.

North Korea is 1 of 32 teams, including South Korea, to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

The Saudia Arabian team may still have an opportunity to compete in the World Cup if it beats Bahrain in its next match in the Asian play-offs.
