Notah Begay was one of the people present at Tiger Woods' press conference this morning, but who is Notah Begay?

Notah Begay and Tiger Woods have been friends since they attended Stanford together. Tom Yantz of the On The Tee Golf Blog discusses that Begay has had his own issues with addiction, as he was an alcoholic and also had to receive counseling for his addiction.

Begay is the only full-blooded American Indain golfer on the PGA tour and he won the Canon Greater Hartford Open in 2000, among some other professional and amateur wins.

In early 2000, Begay was sentenced to a week in jail for his second DUI in five years. He was sentenced to 365 days in jail, with all but seven of those days suspended.

Begay, 27, also must pay a $1,000 fine and not drink alcohol for a year. He will be on probation for one year and must perform 48 hours of community service.

Tiger Woods will no doubt be looking to his friend to help him through this difficult time.

Golf is a game for gentlemen.  Tiger's actions are the antitheses of being a gentleman.  The only gentlemanly thing to do is to resign.  That's it. cheers, dingo boy
