Obama First Pitch: Obama Wears Mom Jeans, Throws Like a Girl?
US President Barack Obama threw out the first pitch at the 2009 All-Star Game and, like just about everything else during his administration, it drew some criticism. Some commentators are saying that Obama throws like a girl, while some fans at Busch Stadium booed Obama. Some are even criticizing his wardrobe, saying that he was wearing "mom jeans."
Obama came onto the field at Busch Stadium wearing a Chicago White Sox jacket (a longtime Chicago resident, Obama is a devoted fan of the South Side team). While he was met with plenty of cheers, Obama also heard boos.
Once he got to the mound, Obama threw the ceremonial first pitch to St. Louis Cardinals first baseman Albert Pujols. The Obama pitch left something to be desired, falling short of home plate. Pujols quickly moved to catch the ball before it hit the ground.
Obama's first pitch wasn't nearly as bad as opening pitches recently thrown by Mark Wahlberg or Gary Dell'Abate a.k.a. Baba Booey. Still, there are plenty of people who think that Obama throws like a girl.
Shockingly, radio host Rush Limbaugh had something negative to say about Obama.
"The guy throws like a girl. I'm sorry. He throws like a girl; he had a girly toss." George W. Bush is a man, said Rush, because he fired a strike at Yankee Stadium after 9-11.
On top of that, there have been a couple of jokes about Obama's choice of jeans at the All-Star Game. Entertainment Weekly commented on the fact that Obama was wearing "dad jeans." Comedian Jimmy Kimmel had a slightly different take, implying that Obama was wearing "mom jeans."
He said Obama in jeans looks like his aunt Linda in jeans.

I feel Obama has become the center of everyone's attention since becoming the president.
Each and every move, statement, visit is being observed so closely. I wonder if it has been done to any other president in the past.
at 08:52 on July 16th, 2009
Of course he's the "center of everyone's attention." He's engineered it to be that way! He's constantly on TV. How many prime time press conferences did he have in his first 100 days? He had a Non-State of the Union address within a couple weeks of taking office, which he is not entitled to give until 1 yr into his term. He bills every town hall conference as the biggest thing since FDR introduced the next alphabet soup program as part of the New Deal. Obama WANTS to be the first thought on everyone's mind when they wake up in the morning, and the last when they go to bed. The man is a narcissist who needs public recognition. If he's not getting it at home, he'll jet-set to Europe and give a speech there to adoring masses or head to the Mid-East for another apology tour. Either that, or he'll allow an interview with MSNBC.

Speaking for myself, I find I preferr by far, having a president that us willing to face his constituents even when he is telling us something we don't want to hear. (How many times did George W take the time to speak to the people that elected him (many regretted their vote by then end of his second term.) I disagree with anonymous in the statement about President Obama being narcissistic. I can't imagine why he or anyone elose would want the responsibility of cleaning up the mess that was made in the 8 years prior to his taking office. He is a high energy President. Let's give the guy a chance The mess he walked into is going to take far more that his first year to correct..

You are an idiot lol

Of course everything he does is at the center of everyone's attention. He's the President! Not only that, but he's a President who is enacting a very different agenda from any seen in the last forty or so years of US politics. Add to that the fact that he has created a very rockstar-esc persona and it's only natural that he'd have this sort of coverage.
He should just be thankful he's still getting mostly positive coverage given how unpopular so many of his policies have been so far.

Uh, actually we've seen that model over and over again for the past 40 years and now we're more like Europe then we've ever been, moribund and weak foreign policy, high taxes, double digit unemployment...

I saw that throw,
It was awful.
at 17:51 on July 15th, 2009
Listen, the press has made him out to be something of an athlete when he is way more of an Urkel then a jock. The pitch just proves two things, the image he has created of himself is full of holes and the media is still giving him the old monica.

One: I would love to see Rush throw a ball like a "man".
Two: He threw like a girl? What year is this, 1950?
Also, I may be mistaken, but is having the ability to throw a baseball "properly" in the requirements for one to be president?
at 18:07 on July 18th, 2009
I was also wondering what role the ability to pitch a curve ball has to do with running a country.
at 12:47 on July 21st, 2009
Throwing a baseball is not a requirement for President but being a citizen is.....hmmmm. I was at the game and it was pitiful that he couldnt even make it to the plate. Obama thinks he is all that and clearly he is not (and Im not only referring to his pitch or his jeans).

Soetoro throws like a girl because his teleprompter died.

Listen up people,
Just because you are an athelete does not mean you can automatically be good at all sports. Somebody good at basketball might not be able to throw a strike to save their lives. I played football but can't play a lick of basketball.
Also, Rush is a hack at best. Let's see him play basketball one on one with Obama see him have a heartattack trying to run up and down the court. I would willing to buy pay per view for that!

Well not only does Obama suck at Baseball you should look him up on youtube golfing. He sucks at that too. HA HA!

When will the American people accept the fact that our United States President is African-American? President Barack Obama is a “BLESSING” to this world! We as people should be more thankful and less negative. The world was not made in one day but President Obama will change this world for the better and then what will people say or think. Let the hate go and be happy. This is not the time to be critical but rather loving and helpful to one another!

I am not shocked that he throws like a girl, nor are the Russians, Korea, Iran or Hugo Chavez. They treat him like a sissy cause he is one. Perhpas when has completed his one world socialized government that he is intent on, then he can make it law that EVERYONE has to throw like e girl!!! As it was, he made sure that the best angle for the camera, and no live shot of the throw was seen, just like a dictator would. Control the media. But you can't control a fast ball....... He seems to be good at spending other peoples money ....hmmmm , what a coincidence.

PATHETIC! We look to Limbaugh for comments. Wake up, we have a country to save. get past the petty & look to the furure...I don't care about baseball I care about our humanity!
at 21:55 on July 16th, 2009

at 22:52 on July 17th, 2009
True, do not insult girls, they throw better than obama!!!!
at 22:54 on July 17th, 2009
I hope he at least stuffs his "mom jeans"
at 03:01 on July 18th, 2009
Obama is a fake, he is just another puppet placed here to get everyone under one roof. Besides that I think he and Michelle are brother and sister. Check out the teeth, see what I mean??

It's time that the U.S.A wake up and stop the hate. We need to heal the world. Not since JFK has the world seen such a charismatic figure for an USA president. Not only is President Obama intelligent, brilliant and a family man but he is also handsome. Too bad that we cannot say the same for cross-dressing, tub of lard Rush. President Obama is the one who will unite the world that George Bush messed up and disappeared under a rock. May God continue to bless our President.
at 07:43 on July 18th, 2009
People who say Obama throws like a girl probably walk like a girl. Not only is our President intelligent but is has a swagger to die for ( like it or not not ). Our presidents before him they could barely walk and some of them were not even articulate. Grow up you haters and whine to your momas.
at 07:44 on July 18th, 2009
Are you too young to remember Bill Clinton. We knew what was going on in the bedroom. At least we don't know if Obama performs as well as his fast ball!
at 08:48 on July 18th, 2009
What we need to remember is the good old (sarcasm) years of the Bush era. The good old war in Iraq - which was never ever explained - that killed more than 3000 young, ambitious, and patriotic Americans. Obama has not sent U.S. troops anywhere without a good reason. The 9/11 attacks, as you will all agree, is more than a good reason to send troops to combat. That is why Obama has sent extra troops to Afghanistan. The 9/11 attacks were planned in Afghanistan, not in Iraq, though none of the terrorists were from Afghans. Lets not forget that more than 200,000 Iraqis died in that war. If we were upset about 3000 people, imagine how much of a loss that is to Iraqis. I know some of you will say: Saddam had to be removed. Though you do not really care for others. That's just your excuse. He was a foreign leader, who did not impose a threat to us. And as such, it was the Iraqis choice and problem. We should not meddle in other countries' politics. Imagine if Russians told us that Bush was a tyrant, and brought their tanks, troops, and aircraft on our soil. It is unacceptable.
On the domestic side of things, lets not forget the great recession that we're in. Millions of Americans have lost their jobs, because Bush did not take care of the economy. He left it with almost no regulation. Then. we - the taxpayers - had to bail out all the big corporations that were responsible for the economic turmoil, which caused many to lose their jobs. Let's not forget that while Katrina victims had to rely on the great love, compassion, and unity of the churches across the United States, Bush neglected to respond to the crisis that American citizens faced. He was too busy spending more than 600 Billion dollars on the war in Iraq. I don't think that is a wise decision. I don't think that such a person should be our president.
So let's remember the real duties of the president. Let's remember that Barack Obama is here to serve the best interest of Americans. If you spent a little more time following the developments around the world and in our country, you wouldn't come across as an uninformed citizen.

Funny, I bet you picked apart George W. and his father when they were Presidents. You Obama nuts amaze me.....you are allowed to voice your opinions yet no one can come at Obama. I dont need to insult his clothes or his throws (which are both pitiful), he sucks...unless you are a liberal socialist. America is not a Socialist society (yet).
at 08:58 on July 18th, 2009
yea....bush is the man??? because during his...for a lack of a worse term "administration", he did one thing right??? throw a pitch after 9-11. if that makes him a man, than yes he is one heck of a man... frikin IDIOT!
at 10:46 on July 18th, 2009
Fred W is an idiot...Bill Clinton was a good president who was very tainted...Where was his morals? With a beautiful and intelligent wife, did she deserve what he did to her? President Obama is a family man and I really don't think it's any of your business what he and his wife does in their bedroom. Do you hear Michelle complaining? They have two beautiful, well mannered kids. Too bad we can't say that for most of the kids today. YOU should be praying that President Obama keeps doing what he is doing to stabilise the economy THAT GEORGE BUSH SCREWED UP and keep you employed. I lost 40% of my stock under George Bush and lots of my friends are currently UNEMPLOYED. For the last 3 months my stocks are on the rebound. This is what I want in a President. I couldn't care less whether or not he can throw a stupid ball. Most of the prople who can throw a ball did not graduate with a law degree from Harvard, SO GO GET A LIFE AND PRAY THAT HE STAYS IN THE WHITE HOUSE FOR ANOTHER TERM TO SAVE US ALL. ...
at 20:54 on July 18th, 2009
Uh, Positive Thinker,
Better check your facts on who screwd up the economy. You might also want to check which party had control of the House & Senate during Bush's last term. I for one WILL NOT pray for him to stay in office. Our country can't afford a president and congress that has quadrupled the debt in less than a year. And he wants to spend more..... Time for you to get a life and quit wandering around in your Obama trance muttering "yes we can".
at 07:29 on July 20th, 2009
Listen Ron Henry,
Don't you know that you have to spend in order to earn and that also grows the econmy? Where were you when Bush was allowing all the American jobs to be sent to India? Can you find a Souvenir in the United States that was not made in China? I worked for one of the largest Corporations in the country and this company is now one of the smallest - employee wise- only because the jobs are now in India and the Americans are now unemployed. It's racist people like you that would rather have a white illiterate President than an educated one that is black and is fighting for change for all americans black, white and navy blue. Why don't you talk about the billions of American dollars that were spent liberating oil rich Iraq and the thousands of U.S soldiers that died stupidly for a war that Bush sent them into looking for WMD. We lost 3K in 9/11. and quadrupled that in Iraq. Where is the logic. I'll keep praying for Mr. Obama because when he turns this country around and re-earn the respect for America that was lost aound the world, people like you will owe him and apology. God Bless President Obama.
