Olympic Zip Line: Free Zip Line in Downtown Vancouver for Games
As part of the Olympic festivities a zip line stretching from Vancouver's downtown law courts to the Vancouver Art Gallery will be open to the public, for free to boot. Ziptrek Ecotours, the folks behind the Olympic zip line, run tours out of both Whistler, BC and Queensland, NZ.
The Olympic zip line spans some 170 metres (550') across the new GE ice rink in Robson Square and hoists the zip-liner six stories above the city.
This unique endeavor will provide visitors the opportunity to experience the thrill and exhilaration of ziplining – brought to prominence in North America by Ziptrek’s flagship operation in Whistler. Switching the traditional backdrop of old growth forest, to cityscape, should prove to be an amazing and rare experience. Not to mention the fact it will be taking place at one of the key hubs of Olympic activity! Be sure to come and check out this exclusive attraction. Only during the Olympics, and Free!
The zip line opens February 12 and runs through the 28th, open everyday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
