ONTARIO AMATEUR BOXING HALL OF FAME - 2012 Inductees

After the nominations of 50 boxers and builders, the final result
for the core group of inductees has resulted in 18 names.Those selected include:Asif Dar, Billy Irwin, Chris Johnson, Dennis Bradly, Egerton Marcus,George Chuvalo, George Fraser, Horace Gwynne, Ian Clyde, Jerome McComb, Joe Sandulo, Lennox Lewis, Marc Leduc,Mark Simmons, Michael Strange, Nicky Fulano, Shawn O'Sullivan and Walter Henry.
The 32 not selected will remain as nominees for theselection in 2013.  Also, there will be additional namesadded to the list of nominees.  
OTHER MATTERS:*The process has started for nominations to theBritish Columbia Amateur Boxing Hall of Fameand to-date there have been a numer of nominationsincluding some early ones such as Mickey Griffin, Ed Williams, Dick St. Louis, Gordie Lawson, andDerrick Hoyt.
*Steps are being taken to attempt to begin aCanadian Amateur Boxing History and Wall of Fame.Several committees have been set-up in BC, Alberta,Saskatchewan and Manitoba, and it is expected thatother provincial committees will be established before December 31, 2012.
