Orioles Hollywood Ending vs. Red Sox Caps "Rally O's Wednesdays"
April 11, 2013- The Baltimore Orioles were on a 3-game slide heading into Fenway Park last night as the O's faced the Boston Red Sox.
They were 3-4 on the season and fans were already getting a little nervous only 7-games into the 2013 campaign.
Dunkadelic Sports Marketing in Baltimore only a week earlier had proposed that each Wednesday during the season be celebrated as "Rally O's Wednesday."
Rally O's Wednesdays is the Orioles version of the Baltimore Ravens Purple Friday. O's fans would support the Orioles by wearing Oriole team merchandise to work and school to rally behind the club in the pursuit of a World Series Championship, and continue the winning ways of the 2012 season.
With the O's down 3-5 in the top of the ninth inning Chris Davis led-off with a one-run homer blast to draw the score 4-5.
Ryan Flaherty singled and consecutive walks to Nolan Reimold and Nate McLouth loaded the bases. The game tying run scored on a wild pitch and Manny Machado's 3-run homer put the O's in front with his drive off Hanrahan to the Green Monster seats.
The rally was complete with O's leading 8-5 on Rally O's Wednesday. Wow!
Hollywood could not have written a better script for the ending of the game for the Orioles.
The next Rally O's Wednesday will be a home-game on April 17th vs. the Tampa Bay Rays.
