FILIPINOS fear a television blackout as they gather to watch local hero Manny Pacquiao defend his world welterweight title on Sunday and the fraying national power grid feels the strain. The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) acknowledged that the electricity network, already subject to regular blackouts, could face difficulties as millions of Filipinos try to tune in for the bout against Ghanaian challenger Joshua Clottey at the Cowboys Stadium in Texas.

'MAGKITA NA LANG KAMI SA RING!'

DALLAS --- Hindi magpapadala si Manny Pacquiao sa pagiging liyamado sa kanyang pagdedepensa ng World Bo­xing Organization (WBO) welterweight crown sa Cowboy Stadium sa Sabado (Linggo sa Manila).
Ayon kay trainer Freddie Roach, hindi magkukumpiyansa si Pacquiao laban kay Joshua Clottey ng Ghana.
“He (Pacquiao) doesn’t take anyone lightly,” wika ni Roach.
Pero kabaligtaran naman ito ni Clottey, na kumpiyansang-kumpiyansa na kanyang tatalunin ang Pambansang Kamao.   
  “I will shock the world,” pahayag ng 32-year old na challenger mula sa Accra, Ghana, habang ang mga fans na umabot sa mahigit dalawang libo ay nag-aabang sa labas ng stadium kung saan ginanap ang official weigh-in noong Biyernes.
“I’m very much ready. And I want the whole world to know who I am,” dagdag pa ni Clottey.
