Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first in the first Test being played at Abu Dhabi from Oct. 18-22, 2011. See live scorecard.

The two teams have played each other 37 times, with Pakistan winning 15 times and Sri Lanka nine. Over the last six years, they've played each other on seven occasions with two wins for Pakistan and one for Sri Lanka. See ball-by-ball commentary.

Sri Lanka, now have a new coach in Geoff Marsh, but have not won a Test since July 2010. After the retirement of spinner Muttiah Muralitharan and pacer Lasith Malinga, their ability to bowl the opposition out in the five-day format has been questioned.
