NP Rank:
Pathetic moment in playoff history
I am not normally a Ravens fan. They are the ones that stole the franchise from Cleveland and emerged as blackbirds in Baltimore. In fact, the Baltimore Blackbirds might have been a better name, in my opinion. Oh, I get the historical reference of ravens and the flag flying at Ft. McHenry, but most people don’t have a clue about that.
Anyway, I chose the Raven over the Steelers this year because they are the closest thing to a hometown team we Redskins fans have. Normally, I root for the Steelers because they are an emblem for working people like me, not that there is any correlation between the NFL ownership and the fans.
The Ravens and Steelers game was hard fought football. The tug of war was entertaining so long as both sets of fans could sense a possibility of winning. In the second half, however, even though the Steelers were losing linemen, the Ravens seemed to be folding. They looked tired and QB Flacco fell apart while Rothlisberger performed a few skilled moments.
What really irritates me is seeing Qb Flacco prance around running backwards against defenders instead of moving downfield. QB’s need to take a few hits to get the team moving in the right direction. It seems to me Flacco might be too small.
Another thing that irritates me is to see receivers catching the ball and zipping out of bounds when there are clearly three or four more yards ahead of them. The NFL has a standard routine that sends ball carriers out of bounds instead of putting out a stiff arm and head down to get the ball downfield.
“NFL playoffs: Steelers rally past Ravens to advance

Sunday, January 16, 2011; 12:14 AMPITTSBURGH - When the Pittsburgh Steelers had to summon the improbable, who to entrust but Ben Roethlisberger? Throughout his career, the dogged quarterback has made consequential plays with regularity, and he did so again in Saturday's AFC semifinal against the Baltimore Ravens to lead a 31-24, come-from-behind victory before 64,879 at Heinz Field.”

Ben came from behind while Flacco high tailed it.
