Paul the Oracle Octopus Makes Final World Cup Prediction (Video)
Paul the Oracle Octopus Has Made His Final World Cup 2010 Predictions
Perhaps the most famous octopus in the world has made his final picks for the World Cup and now all eyes are on him to see if he can maintain his perfect record during this tournament.
Despite some calling for him to be killed and grilled, Paul seemed cool, calm and collected when he chose Spain to beat the Netherlands in the World Cup final on Sunday.
Even the Spanish Prime Minster José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero jokingly offered Paul protection after German fans expressed their displeasure. The Environment and Fisheries Minister Elena Espinosa said on Monday she will be asking his Ministers to issue a ban on fishing for all Octopi so that the Germans do not eat Paul.
He has however chosen Germany to beat Uruguay in their battle for third place on Saturday.
According to ESPN, the odds of Paul correctly predicting all of Germany's games in the World Cup is one out of 64 and he has not only started what may be a career for animals all over the world, but he has also brought fame to the Sea Life Aquarium in Oberhausen Germany.
"Paul is such a professional oracle he doesn't even care that hundreds of journalists are watching and commenting on every move he makes," said Stefan Porwoll, the Sea Life Aquarium manager. "We're so proud of him."
Mani the Parakeet could give Paul a little competition (although his record is not as extensive or impressive) but he has predicted the Netherlands to win in the final.
It's a battle between oracle animals.

Isn't Mani more of a life coach than a sports pundit? Not that a career change isn't possible, but, at the moment, Paul has a verifiable track record, which gives him a leg up (and he has 7 to spare).

Octopus are very sly and strange animals. Everyone has a sneaking respect for them.
