Persepolis - Sepahan 26_10_08 1-0 Bagheri
Tehran's popular team Persepolis has dismissed its Brazilian assistant coach Marco Antonio Alvarez and player Paulo Roberto do Carmo.  “We have decided to dismiss Marco and do Carmo from the club,” said Persepolis managing director Dariush Mostafavi on Friday.   “The decision was made in a Friday meeting held by the chief of the club's board of directors Hossein Hedayati, the coach Afshin Qotbi and me.” he added.  Mostafavi also confirmed that Qotbi would continue to coach Persepolis until the end of the season.   “We have talked to Togo's soccer team captain and he will arrive in Tehran tonight to attend the training session. If he shows a good performance, he will be hired,” Mostafavi added.
The club's official also pointed out that Rahman Rezaei and Mohammad Nosrati may join the team if they are approved by Qotbi.  Persepolis has performed poorly this season and currently sits in the fourth place in the Iranian Premier League (IPL) with 22 points. The title-holder has been defeated four times this season, loosing against Mes of Kerman, Abumoslem of Mashhad, Foulad of Khuzestan and Moghavemat Sepasi of Shiraz. Is fourth place really low then? Forgive my ignorance, but it doesn't seem that low to me.

Well...when it comes to soccer -football-fan´s perceptions, a fourth place seems to be horribly low!

It depends where you're coming from. If it's been first place over a number of years, then fourth represents failure. It's all relative. I wouldn't complain if my team were fourth. :)
