Phil Ivey Is So Upset With How Full Tilt Poker Has Handled The Recent Online Poker Shudtown That He Is Boycotting The 2011 WSOP

Phil Ivey has stated that he is boycotting the 2011 World Series of Poker. The poker star said in a statement that he his WSOP boycott stems from his displeasure with how Full Tilt Poker has dealt with its customers.

Since a recent online poker shutdown, thousands of US Full Tilt players have not gotten money from their Full Tilt accounts. Full Tilt has locked access to accounts, despite the fact that the DoJ has urged online poker sites to give money to US customers.

In a statement posted on Faceook, Phil Ivey wrote:

“I am deeply disappointed and embarrassed that Full Tilt players have not been paid money they are owed. I am equally embarrassed that as a result many players cannot compete in tournaments and have suffered economic harm. I am not playing in the World Series of Poker as I do not believe it is fair that I compete when others cannot. I am doing everything I can to seek a solution to the problem as quickly as possible.”

Ivey goes on to say that he has also "electronically filed a lawsuit against Tiltware, related to the unsettled player accounts." TiltWare is Full Tilt Poker's software and marketing company.

Over the years, Phil Ivey has earned eight WSOP bracelets.
