Is Phil Jackson Going To Be The Next Knicks Coach Now that Mike D'Antoni Quit? Or Are the Phil Jackson To Knicks Rumors Just a Pipe Dream

Call it a rumor, call it wishful thinking, but plenty of fans are wondering aloud if Phil Jackson might be the next head coach of the New York Knicks after Mike D'Antoni resigned on March 14, 2012.

In a way, the Phil Jackson to Knicks rumor seems to make sense. After all, he played for the  Knicks during their 70s heyday and he has earned a reputation for working with young superstars like Carmelo Anthony.

Of course, there isn't much to the Phil Jackson rumors. However, a few weeks back NBA writer Mark Heisler noted that the odds of Jackson coaching the Knicks are slim, but he doesn't rule it out entirely.

Heisler says the Knicks would have to offer PJ $12-15 million a year to get him interested in returning to the bench.
