Fans of the Philadelphia Phillies are planning for the best and worst if their team wins the World Series. One of the top internet searches at the moment is "Phillies Parade" and "Phillies World Series Parade". Fans have searched for an online parade route so often that it has caused one blogger to respond:

All of you searching for a Phillies parade are really killing me! Wait one more game people!

Meanwhile, city officials have announced that a parade route will only be announced if and when the Phillies win their first World Series in 28 years.

The Philadelphia Phillies' won't announce any plans for a parade until they win, according to Philadelphia Daily News' Sam Donnellon on Monday.

"They won't announce anything until they clinch. Bad form and bad luck," said Donnellon at a live chat with Philly.com this afternoon.

City officials are concerned that fans might have a little too much fun on the streets of Philadelphia if the Phillies win the World Series.

Whatever happens this time around — “when'' the Phillies capture the title, local and Philadelphia police departments say they're prepared.

If you'll be in the city “when” the Phillies clinch, police will have every available officer working along with extra patrols and special details throughout the city, said Philadelphia Sgt. Ray Evers.

“If the Phillies do win, people are going to have ample time to celebrate and have a good time,” Evers said. “But we're going to tolerate certain activities and there will be a time for people to go to bed.”

Game 5 might be the Phillies best chance to wrap up the series, with ace pitcher Cole Hamels getting the start in front of his hometown fans.

Now things are quite confused!  Game 5 was suspended tonight due to the cold wet rains that came in after inning 4 or so.  The game is tied.  Weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow, so it could be Game 5 will not be played until Wed!  Then, the newscasters tell us, the official Phila. parade would be Friday, but if only they go ahead and finish Game 5 with a win.  If there is a Game 6 or Game 7, then stay tuned for more info!

I think the worst thing for Philadelphia to do is to have the parade on Friday.  It's bad enough that it is a work day and secondly because it is Halloween.  All the people who need to get home to take care of there kids will be grid locked in the city forever.  I know that they would start the parade at 11:00 am, but 1 million drunks in the city on a work day is crazy.

The parade is definitely Friday, in Center City at 20th and Market Sts., as noted by previous poster.  Congrats. to team Phillies and manager Charlie Manuel. May the weather be warmer than Mon. or Wed.!

Phillies have won two World Series championship and six National league pennants. Congratulations to Philadelphia Phillies team, you guys truly deserve it. Conversely, with regards to this, here’s the sad news. Harry Kalas, announcer for the Philadelphia Phillies since time immemorial, is no more.  He has ceased to be.  Harry Kalas became announcer for the Phillies in 1971, and held the post until his passing away just recently. He had the distinct pleasure of being in the stadium (granted, he was working) when the Phillies won both of their World Series titles, an honor some would get personal loans to share in.  He is one of the most iconic announcers in all of Major League Baseball. He will take his place among the likes of Howard Cosell and Harry Caray.   Sometimes, it's a reminder that our time here is just short term loans, after which we are Outta Here, like Harry Kalas.
