NP Rank:
Pink Football Gloves?
Pink football gloves will be worn by over a 1000 football players in the month of October to draw attention to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. They will surely look unusual and get people talking about the gloves and breast cancer too - an illness that almost all of us know someone that has suffered or is suffering with.

The market leader in high-performance athletic gloves and accessories, announced Friday the donation of over 1,000 pairs of pink football gloves to individual football players and high school teams across the country.
As soon as the announcement hit the Cutters' website, the orders flowed in and the 1,000 pairs of Cutters Pink were completely sold out by Monday afternoon. The goal of the donation is to draw attention to October's National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the gloves being distributed free of charge.
"The response was overwhelming," said Laura Beraznik, Cutters' co-founder and brand manager. "Our goal is to create thousands of pink glove impressions on youth and high school football fields across the country in October. We believe the unusual sight of pink gloves on the football field will generate additional interest in National Breast Cancer Awareness and hopefully motivate others to get involved. This is a very personal mission for us and for our customers," said Beraznik.

Everybody wins - Cutters get good publicity - players get gloves - awareness of breast cancer issues increases - I checked out the Cutters website and they are publicising Breast Cancer Awareness Month right up front - looks good.

It's so important that men get involved in breast cancer awareness - especially as some men run the risk of developing breast cancer as well, which is a little known fact.

Men need (and most want to) to show their support - after all every woman that gets breast cancer is someone's mother, lover, sister, wife, aunt, daughter, grandmother.... - sometimes men can feel left out a little when events are organised (with the best of intentions) as women only events - so yes great to see some events aimed at including everyone.
