Pittsburgh Marathon
May 3, 2009-- After 6 years, the Pittsburgh Marathon returns to Pittsburgh. Over 10,000 people participated in the marathon. I volunteered at a relay station near my apartment building. It was a slightly chilly, cloudy day with some sprinkles-- nice for the runners, not so nice for the static volunteers. I clapped my hands sore, I shouted my throat sore, but it was a fun experience. I got a cool volunteer t-shirt and some thank yous from the runners. It was great to see the diversity in age of the runners. My guesstimated age range of the marathon runners is 12 - 75. Perhaps, I'll start training for the relay next year!

THANK YOU SO MUCH! these events wouldn't happen without volunteers like you, and runners really appreciate the support you give. it might not always show on our faces, but it means a lot and helps us to continue when it gets rough.
