Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahal is temporarily changing his name to Luke Steelerstahl as a show of support towards the Pittsburgh Steelers, who play the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship this weekend.

The Mayor of Pittsburgh announced the change during a press conference.  Ravenstahl explained that he wanted to remove the word "raven" from his name, presumably to disassociate himself from the Steelers opponents.

Ravenstahl said he got the idea after listening to a local sports radio talk show. According to Ravenstahl--er, Steelerstahl--the change is strictly ceremonial as he only partially filled out a name-change application and didn't pay the required $108 fee. He did, however,  place a Steelers bumper sticker on his office door to cover the first part of his last name.

Ravenstahl is running for re-election this year and the name change is likely a move to appeal the throngs of Steelers fans in Pittsburgh.
