Dallas Mavericks assistant coach Popeye Jones was arrested for DUI in Richardson, Texas. As this Popeye Jones' arrest photo indicates, the former Mavs player suffered injuries to his face after police officers tried to subdue him and put him to the ground.

Police arrested Popeye Jones after receiving reports of someone driving erratically in a GMC Yukon. Police arrested Popeye Jones for driving while intoxicated, although Jones failed to take a breathalyzer test. Jones reportedly did not respond to officers' commands, forcing them to take him to the ground.

Jones ultimately suffered an injury to his face, as can be seen in the Popeye Jones mugshot photo.

I think that its a damn crime shame that this man face is posted all over the internet. If he wasnt affliated with the Mavs you wouldnt give a damn what he did. Yeah I know DUI is a crime but reporting false information is also. Popeye is a successful man, everyone makes mistakes. But to me it seems like a little foul play was included in this arrested. If he was really resisting arrest, they would have charged him with it but since they tried to beat the shit out of him they didnt
